We are inundated with pointing jobs where the client’s walls have previously been pointed using hard cement. After carefully removing the old mortar and choosing the correct mix (dependant on the breathability of the masonry and requested finish) our skilled team will then apply and provide the relevant aftercare.
This exciting and cost saving product is developed and supplied by our friends at Eden Lime Mortar, and is the ideal solution to meet building and listed property regulations (along with the client’s heating bill!) Applied by hand, this product follows the contours of the wall and can be applied in various thicknesses. We’ve been working with this product for a while now, and it’s proved to be a winner!
Internal and external lime wash available. We use a HOTMIX lime wash which is mixed onsite and applied hot. We also supply and apply a wide selection of breathable paints as well as a lichen/fungal removal service.
Externally applied, our tradesmen can carry out the whole process; from the removal of existing hard cement, through the dubbing process and the following coats, to the final aftercare that the product needs and deserves.
An eco-friendly alternative to concrete. With a reduced carbon footprint, limecrete meets all building regulations and is more than effective in creating an insulated slab. We can see from your space how much product will be required, we are then able to provide and lay this to a high standard.
From repair work to a complete reslate, we offer the same care and attention. Working alongside our skilled traditional slaters, we apply lime plaster to fix the slates in position. This also acts as a second skin to absorb any condensation, keeping the building looking great, both inside and out.
From the ground up, we can carry out full restorations and renovations. We strive to provide a pleasant building experience for all, working with and meeting the needs of the customer.
Delicate repair work to complete rooms. Our team can match the existing cornice, supply and apply.
Our skilled masons cover all aspects of stone work. From feature walls to external cladding, a lot of our work involves the repair and refurbishing of cement damaged stone, prior to repointing. We also carry out dry stone walling, chimney repairs, and hard landscaping. Our friendly and skilled staff can meet your needs whether it’s where the BBQ is going to fit, or fixing that tired looking chimney stack.
Once our joiners have fitted the stud wall, our staff can then carry out skilled lath work. We can supply and fit the product as well as carry out the insulation, all in one. With our friends at Thermafleece, it’s an itch free job, before our plasterers complete the process. More recently we have applied reed matting products and also hemp boards, both of which work well.
Understandably, stonework, and especially steps, can start to look a bit tired and grubby with age. Our staff can carry out cleaning to an architect’s specification, to bring a building, monument or memorial back to its former glory.
Lake District Lime is focused on improving the resilience of stone built properties, helping to inform councils, architects and surveyors in the area. The application of Lime plasters are now at the forefront of local council guidance on the matter. Lime plasters dry naturally without the need to be removed and then re applied like cement plasters do. We can supply and apply to specification, efficiently and on time.

We understand that not every wall or ceiling on a property warrants a lime plaster finish. From experience in barn conversions, holiday lets, etc, ceilings in the roof space and en-suite stud walls are not viable or cost effective to be completed in lime. That’s why we can provide a gypsum skim plaster to do the job.
